I work using a range of therapies, including EMDR, cognitive therapy, metacognitive therapy, (this is a therapy which can be useful if you haven't responded well to cognitive behavioural therapy), and cognitive analytic therapy. I like to work with people who have experienced trauma to support them to recover, and lead a fulfilling life. I also like to work with people who might describe themselves as overthinkers, who struggle with difficulties such as depression, generalised anxiety, trauma and post traumatic stress , relationship difficulties, life crises and work burnout. I also enjoy working with people trying to make sense of difficult family dynamics, difficult relationships and traumatic childhoods.
I recognise that not everybody wishes to receive a long course of therapy and am happy to meet with clients for brief therapeutic consultations of three sessions for adolescents, adults and families to help resolve life problems, crises or relationship difficulties. I am experienced offering consultation, and have set up a service offering this to adolescents and families within the NHS.
I offer clinical supervision for counselling and clinical psychologist, and have completed the University of Manchester supervision course, making me eligible for registration on the British Psychological Society register for applied psychology practitioner supervisors. I have also completed the Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Theray Outreach supervision course.
